🔒 Privacy

Polyglotje cares about your privacy. This page explains what data we collect when you visit polyglotje.nl, and why.

Who are we?

Polyglotje (Uitgeverij Polyglotje) is the publishing imprint of Rik Schreurs, based in the Netherlands. Questions about privacy? Email info@polyglotje.nl.

Google Analytics

We only use Google Analytics if you click ‘OK!’ in the cookie notice. It shows us which pages are viewed, roughly which country visitors come from, which device they use and which Amazon buttons are clicked. Google sets cookies for this. Without your consent no cookies are set. The site then only sends signals without cookies, so Google can estimate the number of visitors.

Who processes this data?

Google Ireland Limited processes the data on our behalf. It may be transferred to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We keep the data for at most 14 months and do not use it for advertising.

Stored in your browser

Your browser (localStorage) remembers which language you chose and what you chose in the cookie notice. This stays on your own device and is not sent to us.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our server keeps technical logs, including your IP address and the time of your visit. We only use them to keep the site secure and working, and they are deleted automatically after a short time.

Ordering on Amazon

You buy our books on Amazon. We cannot see who buys what. Once you click through to Amazon, Amazon’s privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time via ‘Cookies’ at the bottom of every page. You can also ask us what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Not happy with how we handle your data? You can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
